Tasting Notes
The Merlot 2009 is a selection of the ten best barrels of Merlot produced in that year. On the nose this wine is an explosion of dark fruit - prunes and blackberries with a slight caramelized sweetness. These flavours are repeated on the palate with some smoky tones complemented by well integrated oak. Lingering finish.

It is ready to drink now, or within 5 years.
About The Harvest
All grapes were hand picked and sorted twice before a pure yeast culture, B13, was inoculated.
In The Cellar
The juice was pumped over the skins 3-5 times per day for 5 days. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was drained of the primary lees and transferred to a resting tank. Malolactic fermentation and a brief settling period preceded the wine to a combination of 225 litre barrels of French oak.
