Oak Valley Fountain of Youth Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Oak Valley ‘Fountain of Youth’ Sauvignon Blanc expresses fruit aromas of passion fruit, white peach and litchi with a slight herbaceous undertone. Flavours of passion fruit persist on the palate, particularly granadilla, lemons, white pear, gooseberry and a lovely saline finish that reminds one of fresh oyster shells or sea salt.

Oak Valley Riesling expresses pleasing fruit aromas of white peach, litchi and pear. Fruit-forwardness follows on the palate with an abundance of fresh lemon, limes and green apple complemented by good textural viscosity and weight. The linear acidity cleanses the palate, keeping the natural sugars (15 g/l) in perfect balance creating a brilliantly refreshing wineand with a pH of 2.91, this wine can mature beautifully.

Oak Valley Chardonnay 2014

Oak Valley Chardonnay expresses generous fruit intensity of green apple, pear, citrus, cool lime and lemon freshness while retaining elegant restraint. More judicious use of oak compared to the 2013 vintage as the 2014 is defined by enhanced minerality and freshness. Oatmeal and hazelnut add complexity to a balanced finish. A slight departure from previous vintages in favour of a leaner, fruit forward and more refined style.

Oak Valley Shiraz 2014

A light, soft and elegantly fresh style of Shiraz, reminiscent of the northern Rhone where fruit forwardness is key. Floral aromas of blue violets with rich cranberry fruit. Palate expresses fresh raspberry and cranberry medley with lingering dark chocolate and sweet spicy finish. Ultra soft and silky tannins due, in part, to careful use of new oak.

Oak Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2003

The 2003 vintage started off with severe hail and wind damage to the new growth, but the rest of the season was the best we have seen in the previous few years. We used a selection of yeasts known to bring out the characteristics of Sauvignon Blanc. The three tanks were blended together after 4 months on the lees. The wine has a pale rich colour. Gooseberry and passion fruit on the nose. Long full-flavoured creamy textured wine, with hints of ripe grapefruit on the finish.

Aromas of boiled sweets and spicy smokiness. Palate is ripe, yet elegant, with black plum and cherry fruit flavours. Ultra soft and silky tannins due, in part, to careful use of new wood. Lingering dark chocolate finish.
